IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara
Mullins
March 21, 2023
Barbara Ann (Kennedy) Mullins, 88. Born in Covington, KY. Passed away gently on March 21, 2023 - 17 days after a fall. She loved sharing and helping others from a very early age. She loved little children, and they enjoyed her smiling attention. She was the daughter of the late Helen Marie and Steele Herschel Powers. In 1952 she married the love of her life, the late Oliver Monroe Mullins. They had 61 amazing years together. She is survived by her son Gregory Allen and Lois (Wiggins) Mullins of Hebron, KY; grandchildren Jason and Melissa (Hodke) Mullins of Hebron, KY, Amber (Mullins) and Jon Campbell of Axis, AL (near Mobile), and Cari (Mullins) and Andy Pence of Florence, KY; great grandchildren (by family) Matthew Oliver Mullins, Jovie Nicole Campbell, Colton Monroe Campbell, Jolie Linay Campbell, Canyon Jonathon Campbell, Cooper Allen Campbell, Haley Sierra Pence, and Hannah Taylor Pence. She is also survived by two "baby" sisters who lived next door, and she helped raise them together with her son, while her Mother worked for Crosley Avco Industries. Her sisters are Carole Ann (Powers) Abbatiello and Jerry, and Debra Ann (Powers) Jett and Larry. Her Holmes High School graduating class of 1953's motto was; "Look For the Silver Lining" – and she did, in everyone and everything. In 1963, her Mother was no longer working, so Barbara began working as head cashier at the new Arlans Department Store – the first store in the Latonia Shopping Center. As stores came and went, she finished 32 years in retail at the CVS store in Latonia. She was a dedicated Hallmark shopper- gifting so many Christmas items to her own and her sisters' families. She hoped they would bring back pleasant memories each Christmas – her (and her Mother's) favorite time of year. Visitation 5 – 8 pm Tuesday, March 28, 2023 and Funeral 11 AM Wednesday all at SWINDLER & CURRIN FUNERAL HOME, LATONIA. Burial at Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, KY. Memorials to Hospice of St. Elizabeth, 1 Medical Village Drive, Edgewood, KY 41017.
