Obituary

Betty L. Collins "Motherbear", 95, of Ryland Heights, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Rosedale Green in Latonia. She was a seamstress and worked alongside Ray in their upholstery business. She served faithfully at Visalia Baptist Church, Oak Island Baptist Church, Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Piner Baptist Church and Latonia Baptist Church. She was loved by everyone she met and lived her life in service for others. Her ministry wasn't only at church it was in every area of life. She was the face of Jesus to others by cooking, serving and encouragement. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 71 years Ray (Poppa Bear), infant son, Jerry Allen Collins, her brothers Dick and Ed Petzinger, and her great great granddaughter Aiyana Wallace. Beloved mother 6 sons- Raymond Leonard "Lenny" (Karen) of Walton, Rock (Kathy) of Taylor Mill, Ralph "Boz" (Nancy) of Ryland Heights, Rodney "Fit" (Tammy) of Walton, Richard "Smell" (Michelle) of Monticello, Utah and Ronald "Rondo" of Morning View; 22 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren with one on the way and 6 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 3 PM until 7 PM on Friday, December 29, 2023 with funeral service at 7PM all at PINER BAPTIST CHURCH, 15044 Madison Pike, Morning View, KY 41063. Interment 10 AM Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown. Memorials to Great Commission Fellowship Ministries, PO Box 1044, Monticello, Utah 84535.
