James David Luzader went home to his Lord Christ Jesus on Thursday, January 30, 2025.
Dave was born on September 20, 1947 in Covington, Kentucky. He attended high school at Simon Kenton and graduated in 1965. He served in the Navy from 1966 to 1970. He often spoke fondly of his time on active duty in Puerto Rico, among other posts.
Following the Navy he worked as a contractor at Proctor & Gamble with his Dad who was a foreman at the time. Afterwards he worked at Mobile Chemical as a photo engraver for laminated wood design paneling products.
He graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 1983 with an associate's degree in electronics. Following that he worked as an engineering technician at Cincinnati Electronics for several years.
He met and married his lifelong wife, Sandy (Hanks) Luzader, in 1976, and they were married for nearly 49 years. They have two boys, David and Jonathan.
Dave was preceded in going to the Lord Jesus Christ by his mother and father, Arthur and Mae Luzader, and his two sisters, Carol, and Donna Resnick and nephew, Joseph Resnick.
Dave is survived by wife Sandy, his sons David (Kimberly Jo) and Jonathan (Alison), and five nephews.
Dave was an avid nature and landscape photographer, and loved the natural world. He loved hiking and studying plants, animals, and all of God's creation. He was a member of several photography clubs, and for years attended and took part in photography competitions. Visiting state and national parks for these events were some of his favorite pastimes. He loved working in the yard, planting trees, and observing wildlife. He was also involved with several nature conservation and botanical organizations, volunteering for nature trail cleanups and plant identification outings.
Dave was a voracious reader throughout his life, filling his bookshelves with books on a very wide range of topics. He had a lot of interests and dove into each one fully.
In the early 2000's he took courses in website design, and served for ten years as a webmaster for both the Kentucky Native Plant Society and the Kentucky Society of Natural History.
Dave was baptized at Latonia Baptist Church in March 1960 and became a member therafter. He continued at LBC for many years, attending with his family and operating cameras for their televised services. His interest in studying God's Word and how He works in and reveals Himself in Creation, were constants throughout his life.
Dave was a wonderful and loving husband, father, and friend. He was supportive of and always willing to lend a hand to any of his family's pursuits and interests.
