Obituary

Faith Ann Moyer, 77, of Latonia, Kentucky, passed away on December 22, 2025.

Born on November 17, 1948, in Covington, Kentucky, Faith was a proud graduate of Holmes High School, Class of 1967. She later earned both her B.A. and M.A. from Northern Kentucky University, where she studied art and feminist theory—two fields that shaped her worldview and her creative work throughout her life.

Faith built a career in interior design, working on both residential and commercial projects. Her passion, however, was oil painting. Landscapes were her favorite subject, and she drew endless inspiration from the natural world. She admired the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright, the art of Claude Monet, and found beauty in the ordinary—believing that art could be discovered anywhere. Long afternoons at the Cincinnati Art Museum were her joy, as were the quiet hours spent with her beloved cats, Chirp and Fred.

In retirement, Faith devoted her time to the political and human rights issues closest to her heart, advocating particularly for marginalized and disenfranchised communities.

Faith was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Belle Moyer King; her sister, Mary Catherine King Henderson; and her nephew, Anthony Wayne King. She is survived by her daughter, Tricia Dorman Gibbons (William); sisters Shirley King Oaks (Kenny) and Donna King Finn (Mike); nephew Christopher Oaks (Amanda); niece Elizabeth Finn Buchanan (Robbie); as well as several great-nieces and nephews. She will be especially missed by her granddaughter, Katherine Rose Gibbons, who shared her Nanny's love of art and animals.

Although she was not inclined toward formal organizations, one of Faith's most cherished roles was serving as an unofficial "house mother" for the sisters of Theta Phi Alpha. Beginning in the 1990s, she befriended these young women, cheering them on through college, careers, and families. Many of them remained close to her for more than thirty years and visited with affection and gratitude in her final weeks.

Faith will be remembered as a woman who found and fostered beauty—everywhere and in everyone. Her legacy lives on in the art she created, the people she loved, and the lives she touched.

Faith's funeral service will take place at Trinity Episcopal Church, 326 Madison Avenue, Covington, Kentucky on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 11 am.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to Kenton County Animal Services are suggested.
