Obituary

"It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Hilda Weaver, who was born in Washington, D.C., on September 28, 1933, and who died on Monday, October 27, 2025, surrounded by family and friends.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Elisabeth, her brothers Hugh and Kirk, and her lifelong partner, Billie. She is survived by her three daughters—Gail and husband David Pichowsky, Jimmie and husband Don Chaplin, and Gina and husband Bob Russ—with whom Hilda lived since moving to Kentucky in 2010. Affectionately known as GranBerry, she cherished her grandchildren Tina, Justin, Schandra, and Emily, and was blessed with eight great-grandchildren.

She earned a bachelor's degree in English from Miami University in Ohio and a master's degree in Clinical and Applied Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. In her later years, she became an Over-65 Scholar at Northern Kentucky University, auditing many classes and sharing her love of poetry in publications like Licking River Review and Sugared Water.

Faith was central to Hilda's life. She was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Covington, Kentucky, serving on the Vestry, the Stephen's Ministry, and the LGBTQ+ and Allies Group.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025, with a reception following. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for memorial contributions to be made to Trinity's LGBTQ+ and Allies Group and the Trinity Episcopal Church Music Fund. The church is located at 16 East 4th Street, Covington, Kentucky, 41011."
