James David Willman (Dave) age 78, of Covington KY, passed away peacefully at home on February 18 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on December 18 1947 in Covington KY, Dave proudly served his country in the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Air Force. He carried the experiences of his service with him throughout his life.
Dave attended Cincinnati State and Northern Kentucky University to advance his career in the printing and packaging industry, eventually retiring from EC Shaw in Cincinnati OH.
He was an avid Bengals fan, attending many games over the years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, being outdoors, fishing, and replenishing his firewood supply.
Dave was a devoted husband of 50 years to his wife Beverly, and a wonderful father to his daughter Mollie. As the best Papaw he loved outings, fishing, sleepovers, fireworks on the 4th and spoiling his grandkids whenever possible. He was also a caring brother to his sister Sally and a loyal friend to many.
Dave will be remembered for his humor and fun loving nature.
He is survived by his wife Beverly Willman (Smith), daughter Mollie Bannister (Jason Bannister) grandchildren Isaiah, Olivia, Avery and Caleb, sister Sally Elliott (Tommy Elliott), sister in-law Barb Smith, extended family, and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father Matthew "Bud" Willman and mother Vivian "Bebe"Willman.
A visitation will be held on Friday February 27th 2026 from 10am-12pm at Swindler and Currin in Latonia KY. Memorial Service at Noon. Burial at Highland Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell KY to follow, with military honors in recognition of his service.
In lieu of flowers, Dave would love that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
