Linda Sue Mardis, 79, of Erlanger, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at her home. Jesus Christ is her Lord and Savior, she attended Grace Fellowship in Florence. Linda was a loving devoted Daughter, Mother, Sister, and Grandmother. She truly cherished her family. She was a uniquely talented artist working with pen and ink and fine-line marker. Linda's artistic efforts go back for more than thirty years. After attending the Cincinnati Art Academy, she served the Cincinnati Zoo as a display artist, skeletal preparer,and taxidermist. At the Cincinnati Museum of Natural History she did restoration and prepared historical displays. Later, Linda became staff artist for the Kentucky Post and Times Star newspaper. In that capacity she created editorial illustrations, political cartoons, courtroom sketches, and historical/area scenes. After leaving the newspaper, Linda taught art classes at the Baker-Hunt Foundation in Covington, Kentucky for many years. She also produced historical scenes for several Northern Kentucky and Ohio area telephone directory covers for Cincinnati Bell Telephone Company. She is the author of Historical Sketches of Northern Kentucky with a touch of Ohio. She was preceded by her parents; Alvin and Alma Grube Sr. and her sister Alma Barnett. Survived by 2 two sons- Branden Mardis and Mark (Kim) Mardis, 1 daughter- Linda Sue (Andrew) Ligas, 1 brother- Alvin Grube Jr., 1 sister- Nancy Koren-Barsman, 5 grandsons- Anthony, Marcus, Bradley, Tyler, and Collin, 2 great grandaughters- Hayzel and Kairi, and several loving nieces and nephews. Visitation 11-12pm Tuesday, February 20, 2024 with 12 noon Funeral Tuesday all at Grace Fellowship Church, 90 Alexandria Pike, Ft. Thomas, KY. Burial Evergreen Cemetery.
