Ted "Teddy" Keith Huddleston, 72, of Covington, formerly of Campbell County. Born August 1, 1951 to Ganan and Hilda Huddleston, and was raised by his maternal grandparents Dewey and Mabel Williams on their farm in Campbell County. Passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024 at 3 Rivers Health Care Center, Cincinnati from a long illness. He was under the care of Crossroads Hospice for the last several months.
Ted was drafted into the military in the 70's right out of Campbell County High School. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. A member of the 101st. Airborne and was a Green Beret Sergeant. He was wounded twice and received the Purple Heart for his courage and bravery. After serving his country he married his wife Debbie (now deceased) and they had two daughters (Jackie and Susie).
Ted had worked for Ringling Brothers Blue Unit Circus as a train mechanic and later on as a porter from 1997 till 1999 and again from 2009 till 2012. Ted has also worked at General Motors; Cincinnati Bell; Super ValuFoods, Latonia and Cigarette Outlet Thru SuperValue owned by Victor Dawn; Dollar General Stores, Latonia; Mother of God Cemetery; Premier Industries; Chicago Rawhide Factory, Hebron; Economy Meats, Covington; Crosset Produce, Independence and Dave Eaton Janitorial, Burlington.
Ted owned and drove several Classic cars, lots of convertibles, also he loved riding his Harley motorcycles most of his life. Then later in life started riding scooters. Ted was also a great guitarist, playing back in high school. He was with a group called "Strange Brew". They performed at several famous locations, such as "Guys and Dolls" etc. They also made a cassette.
Preceded in death by his second wife Linda.
He will be missed by lots of friends, especially, Marlene a long time friend, his family and neighbors and his dog Jack.
Visitation 3 till 4 PM with funeral service beginning at 4 PM Saturday, July 13, 2024 all at Swindler & Currin Funeral Home, Latonia. Burial 11 AM Friday, July 19, 2024 at Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell with military honors.
Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, VA Hospital or to Crossroads Hospice.
