Villa Mae Tankersley, age 85, died at Gallatin Nursing & Rehab on November 8, 2025. She was a longtime resident of Highland Heights, KY. Mae was born February 10, 1940 in Liberty, KY to the late Dewitt and Minnie Akers.

Through the years Mae enjoyed playing Bingo and shopping with her friends and family. Mae loved working in her yard and flowers. Her special pride was raising a vegetable garden each year. She often referred to herself as a gardener.

In addition to her parents, Mae was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ralph Tankersley and two brothers William Aldon Akers and J.B. Akers and one sister Mildred McGaha.

Mae is survived by her sister Beatrice A. Cleary of Virginia and several nieces and nephews as well as several great and great great nieces and nephews.
